Issues with WebGrade

Expect Paper Copies of Grades from Your Students
Chariot Software, the company that provides our online gradebook service, has unexpectedly gone out of business. All student grades are kept on the school's servers, so no grade data has been lost. However, we now have a temporary issue posting grades to our website. We hope to have this issue resolved for the start of the second semester.

To keep parents and students informed of student progress, teachers will be distributing paper copies of Student Summary Grade Reports (what you are used to seeing on WebGrade) on November 23rd & 24th, December 7th & 8th, and December 14th & 15th. Your students are responsible for sharing these grade sheets with you, so please be sure to ask your students for them. As always, if you have any concerns about your student's progress in a given course, please contact his or her teacher directly. All teacher contact information can be found by clicking here.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get a new grade reporting system in place for the second semester, and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

Senior Reminders

CSU and UC Applications
CSU and UC Applications are due November 30th. We recommend that you submit your applications on or before November 24th. This is to avoid any last-minute, technical issues, and allow for an application-free holiday break. It is of utmost importance that your counselor reviews your application before you submit it. Please make sure to meet with your counselor before Thanksgiving break.

Sending Test Scores to Colleges
Please make sure to send official test scores to each of your colleges. Archbishop Mitty cannot send your official test scores to colleges. SAT scores can be sent through your collegeboard.org/sat account. Please use the code "3594," which allows you to send one score report to all 23 campuses (as opposed to paying for each campus individually). ACT scores can be sent through your actstudent.org account.

College Notifications & Student Portals
After you submit your applications, check your emails and portals regularly for important updates and requests from colleges (i.e. missing test scores, transcripts, etc.). If you are missing any essential items for your applications, please respond immediately. Applications will be canceled if incomplete.

Teens for Teens

Annual "Teens for Teens" Christmas Drive November 19th - December 1st
For seven years, Archbishop Mitty has held the "Teens for Teens" Christmas drive. Over 50 California Scholarship Federation (CSF) members plan, organize, go into the religion classes, produce a Mitty Minute, and go to the "Gifts for Teens" warehouse, sponsored by the American Association of University Women, to put together more than 1,200 tote bags that will be delivered to teenagers in Santa Clara County who are receiving help from Sacred Heart Community Center and various other non-profits and shelters in our area.

"Teens for Teens" is one of the few organizations in the Bay Area that collects gifts for teenagers; most of the other groups collect for babies, young children, and families. Last year, more than half of the student body contributed a gift or gift card.

We need your help again this year! Gifts and gift cards for $5 and $10 are greatly appreciated. Click here to see the "Wish List." A printed flyer of the "Wish List" can be found in the Library, the Counseling Center, the Advancement Office, and posted for viewing around campus. Gifts are collected in Mrs. Falcone's counseling office and the Counseling Center, before and after school, and during both lunch periods.

2016-2017 Financial Aid Application Now Available

We are pleased to announce the online Financial Aid Application for the 2016-2017 school year is now available on our mitty.com website. All families requesting financial aid will be directed to our website to create an account with PSAS, the outside service the Diocese of San Jose retains to collect and evaluate levels of financial need. If you are new to the program, you will be asked to provide an email address and a password. For families that filed for financial aid last year, you can access your account as a returning applicant by using your login information. Once you have created an account, you can login when convenient; fill out the application, update, change and save information; track your progress; and communicate directly with helpful and knowledgeable staff members at PSAS. For returning applicants, your previous information has been saved for easy reference. The application is easy to navigate, the instructions are clear, it's available in English and Spanish, and only one application per family is required. This process has been mainstreamed to provide a faster, simpler, friendlier service to our families.
